Tangy Strawberry Smoothies

Just what we need for a winter refresh!

Smoothie in glass angle

This is Super Bowl weekend, also known as Endless Food weekend!!!! (literally billions of chicken wings will be consumed.) To balance all the fats and sugars, we’ve got a healthy treat coming your way.  Just grab some frozen berries, and 4 minutes of thawing, measuring, and blending later, you’ll have yourself something to be proud of that tastes delish!  My Ninja blends the fruit in no time.  I using it constantly!

Fun fact: I have unashamedly enjoyed smoothies as breakfast, lunch beverage, and after-supper snack at one time or another. 😉

Smoothie straight side 1

I used frozen strawberries because fresh strawberries are not all that tasty in February.  The frozen berries keep their flavor and juice.  The orange adds a nice kick to the smoothie; it doesn’t overtake the berry flavor, it just accents it with some citrus tang.  I add milk for liquid, which makes it a little creamier than water, and I add sugar for MORE FLAVOR!  No fear, it’s only 1 tablespoon, and it makes a big difference!  Feel free to add some greens or other berries to this to switch things up.  I don’t think I’ve ever made the same smoothie twice!

Take a sip of this lovely, good-for-you smoothie.  Or a spoonful.  Because Smoothie Bowls! 😍 (and because everything’s better with toppings)

Enjoy this healthy treat!  It’s divine.
